Day 2: Campaign

Sanders Campaign Office Manchester Introductions and Orientation

We had a phenomenal first introduction to one of the staffers we will be working with. I was struck by the overall positive and welcoming vibes of the people in the office, in addition to the relaxed and communal work environment. After a round table discussion, question and answer, we were tasked with working with the GOTV leader. We spent the rest of the day moving around and organizing hundreds of boxes of literature and clipboards. Unfortunately for the environment, each individual clipboard was wrapped in plastic. What a waste. Afterwords, we then put Bernie stickers on the clipboards.

For our next project, we helped do something pretty cool. We poked holes with a screwdriver into the ‘Bernie’ part of some Bernie signs and then we strung battery operated light though the holes. They looked awesome! In addition, they were recycled from the 2016 campaign! Other volunteers had placed Bernie 2020 stickers over the 2016 part of the signs. So cool! They are particularly perfect for New Hampshire, as it gets dark here extremely earlier than back home in St. Pete. In addition, there are no streetlights, so now our bright Bernie signs can guide people home!

Now for tacos and Iowa caucus results...
